The chairman of JBS SA — the Brazilian global meatpacking company that’s the parent of Colorado-based JBS USA Holdings Inc. — has admitted making illegal payments totaling more than $150 million to the current president of Brazil and two former presidents.
The Wall Street Journal reports today that JBS SA Chairman Joesley Batista admitted the payments in documents that were released by Brazil’s Supreme Court. It said the documents were part of a plea deal.
