Look for the monied influencers in El Paso County politics in coming weeks to flood incumbent Republican Bill Elder's campaign with contributions after his challenger in the sheriff's race, retired Air Force Col. Mike Angley, amassed more than twice as much money for the reporting period ending May 31. The Republican nominee will be decided at the June 26 primary election. Most of Angley's money, however, has come from loans from himself and guaranteed by his wife, Evelyn. Loans comprised $135,000 of his total raised of $154,414. Angley tells the Indy he considers the loans an investment in the community and those serving in the Sheriff's Office. Angley has refused to accept campaign donations from currently serving sheriff's personnel. ...
